Well, it didn’t take long for January’s box to arrive after I decided to subscribe. Good thing I subscribed when I did, as I saw on YouTube a lot of times their boxes sell out.
I swore that I wouldn’t open it until I was halfway through the book in December’s box, Da Vinci’s Tiger, and since I’ve reached that goal (yee haw!), I can now open the box.
Let’s take a look at it, shall we?
Wow, I am loving this artwork from Evie Bookish! I think I’ll frame both of them – I already have a perfect clip frame for the Throne of Glass quote on the left. I really like the book mark – pretty sure I’m going to find another tiny clip frame for it as well!
Here’s the Throne of Glass quote framed. I love the way it looks on my desk shelf.
OMG! It’s a Snape Funko Pop! And Alan Rickman just died this week, and OMG! I can’t even. I know the Harry Potter Funko Pops were five different ones, but wow…
I already have this Funko POP, so I’m going to give it to a friend of mine who loves Snape and Alan Rickman as much as I do.
I hope it doesn’t make her want to curl up into a ball when she sees it.
Okay — on with the unboxing!
Oh, sweet! I got a discount off Robin McKinley’s new ebook. I can’t wait to read it!
Patronus White Chocolate Mint lip balm from Geek Fire Labs on Etsy? I’ve tried it; the mint is not overpowering, which is great, because I’m not a mint fan.
The white chocolate part is pleasant and actually tastes like white chocolate. I’m going to try it for a week or so to see if it makes my lips feel as soft as my fave BabyLips SPF 15 from Maybelline.
SQUEEEELEVENTY!! I can’t believe this is January’s book! I just read about this book on Tor.com (or io9, I forget which), and I was PSYCHED when I heard it was a fantasy take on the Brontes’ childhood stories. And now I have a copy! WHOOT!
Owlcrate is really providing books that I want to read! Color me impressed!
And the book comes with PAPER DOLLS! And a note (well, facsimile note) from the author:
Which brings up my only complaint about the box – there’s a copy of Jane Eyre and a copy of Wuthering Heights with the paper dolls – but where the hell is a copy of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall? Or at least Agnes Grey, for crying out loud?
Where’s the book by Anne Bronte? I swear she gets little love.
/end rant
However, I’m really pleased with my subscription so far. And once again, they have the cutest little card telling me what’s in the box! Love the artwork!
Can’t wait to see what February’s box brings!
See you later!

OMG how have I never heard of Owlcrate, this is incredibly awesome swag. Very cool. Missing you wish you was here.
