We’re coming down to the wire for the Christmas Season — I’m usually done by January 1st as far as celebrating and watching Christmas movies.
I have one more post on movies for New Year’s Eve – then, that is it for Christmas 2015! Whew!
I was home from work Tuesday because I had a HUGE foot cramp. It’s better now – all hail ibuprofen! – but it hurt like hell for a while.
I did hobble downstairs to make an egg and turkey bacon sandwich on toast:
Best part of the morning.
After soaking my feet in hot water again, I hobbled back to bed and rubbed both Dream Silk Comfort Cream and Soothing Leg Lotion (both from Earth Theraputics), on my poor aching foot. (And hey, if you’re gonna rub down one, you may as well do the other, right?)
Sidenote: May I take this time to say that Earth Theraputics are some of the best products ever? I love the Valrian and Lavender in the Dream Silk Comfort Cream; the Rosemary, Wild Mint and Aloe Vera in the Soothing Leg Lotion; and oh yeah, the Chamomile and Lavender in the Anti-Stress Mist, above on the far right. (And no; I don’t get paid to say this. Silly Billy.)
The scents really help me relax when I have trouble sleeping, or am in pain. I hurt my rotator cuff last year, and am slowly getting better. These three items really helped me feel better while I was recovering.
I didn’t feel like sitting up to watch a long movie, so I just lay back against some pillows, and watched some more things that I loved on YouTube.
I’ve mentioned my love of documentaries, but I especially love it when people try to live as they did back in the past. So here are a few more of my favorite Christmas themed shows:
Tales from the Green Valley pt Four (December): I have watched this whole series, and I love how historian Ruth Goodman and archeologists Peter “Fonz” Ginn and Alex Langland go work as though they were in living in different time periods. I would have to say that this one, the 1620s, is my favorite of all their shows. Can you imagine feasting for 12 days straight as they did back in this time period? AND doing all the chores they had to do? All I have to say is that people back then really worked hard and played hard!
A Tudor Feast at Christmas: Features many of the same people from Tales From The Green Valley; this time, they are re-enacting life during the reign of King Henry VIII; in particular, a grand Christmas feast. Which lasted 12 days!
Two Fat Ladies Christmas Feast: Both of the Two Fat Ladies (chefs Clarrisa Dickson Wright and Jennifer Paterson ) have departed this life. I discovered them on PBS back in the 90s, and enjoyed their lighthearted banter and recipes. I remember seeing this episode back then, and thinking these were the luckiest kids (the ladies are cooking for a boys choir) in the world to have eaten this meal. (And probably, twenty years later, they think the same thing too.)
(Coming soon — the New Year’s Eve edition!)
