I was not in the mood to watch a movie last night. I’d been feeling a bit under the weather (not Star Wars related – that movie rocked!).
So, after eating dinner… nothing special — leftover Hunan beef that wasn’t spicy, even though I said, “Extra spicy, please.” But I digress…
I think one of my goals for 2016 will be to learn how to cook Chinese food — but I digress. Again.
Anyway, I decided to look at some of my favorite YouTube Christmas videos, and made my Kinda-Sorta Banana Split.
Start with a package of Dole Banana Dippers. (They also make strawberry Dippers, which I must try!)
Remember those Emerald Nutty Bites from breakfast on Sunday? Take the last bits and crush them up. Hang onto them for a moment.
Top with Smari plain yogurt. This is the same yogurt I used for the onion dip the other day.
Now take those Nutty Bites and sprinkle them on top.
Lick the spoon clean. You deserve it.
I ate this while watching the following videos:
DIY Holiday Coffee & Cocoa Station by Miss Liz Hart — I just love this video because the station is so freaking cute! I covet that cup that looks like it’s wearing a tutu! And the whole setup is inexpensive, and more importantly, cute!
A Perfect Holiday Gingerbread Cake by Jas. Townsend and Sons — I love watching history documentaries, and this group of 18th century reenactors are so knowledgeable about their chosen time period. The recipes they present make me want to try my hand at them because they look so delicious!
Heston’s Christmas Feast — British chef, Heston Blumenthal, is a master of Molecular Gastronomy; what I like about him is that he bases his meals on traditional foodstuffs; and uses memories and imagination to create not only the meal; but also the setting, the smells, and the sounds of Christmas. My favorite part is when they go through the Narnia like entrance to reach the table. Sigh. It also reminds me of my favorite scene from A Little Princess (book and movies) when they find the delicious breakfast waiting for them. Heston is a real life magician!
Night, everybody!
(Part four coming soon!)
