Halloween week is a great reason to watch my fave horror movies…

…except that I’m a wuss, and have to watch things with a light on. Or in the daytime.

I tried to watch Zombieland in the dark — I ended up turning on the bathroom light. (Beware of bathrooms!)

So here’s this years list:

Tremors 2
Zombieland
World War Z (aka “Generic Fast Zombie Movie”)
Dracula (Bela Lugosi version)
Dracula  (Frank Langella version)
Shaun of the Dead
Last Man on Earth
The 13th Warrior

Of all of these, I have to say Shaun of the Dead is my favorite — so much so that I’m watching it again tonight. I just love watching all the background events leading up to the Zombie Apocalypse  — like the guy who’s died in his car, in the middle of traffic, and the horn is beeping and THIS IS A COMEDY??!!

And then later, Shaun is going about his routine and zombies are everywhere and he doesn’t even notice, and there’s a girl in the garden, and HOLY CRAP SHE FELL ON A METAL POLE, AND AGAIN, HOW IS THIS A COMEDY??!!

Yes, it is a comedy. But it’s also scary as hell. WHICH IS WHY I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Note to self: get Tremors  part one for next year’s marathon. I forgot  to change it over during the switch  to DVD.
